Keyboard Assembly

What a wonderful surprise we had this afternoon… We were invited to watch a keyboard performance of lots of Christmas songs. We don’t know about you but we are feeling so very festive.

The children did so well. A very big well done.

Internet Safety

In our computing lessons we have been looking at keeping safe on the Internet. We have discussed the importance of never giving personal information out, like full names, how old we are or what school we go to. We have also discussed that if we speak to people we do not know through playing a game they may not always be the person they say they are.

To help us with our learning we have used the site  where we have watched the videos about Lee and Kim and Hector’s world.

See if they can tell you about keeping safe on the Internet.

EYFS Sing-a-long

What a lovely treat we had this morning, we were invited to the dress rehearsal of the EYFS sing-a-long. We saw beautiful stars, angels, Christmas trees, snowmen, reindeers and the nativity characters.

You are in for a real treat!

Christmas Countdown…

What an exciting day we have had in school! Everywhere has felt so festive and it’s definitely been a hygge moment for me. The Christmas spirit is firmly in full flow and everyone is spreading Christmas cheer.

We had a gorgeous gift service this morning, the Christmas carols and performances from the Salvation Army were beautiful and the gifts the children brought in were very overwhelming. I know they’ll make so many children very happy.

Marvellous money

This week we have been learning all about our 8 coins. We have been focussing on the coins shape, colour and value. We have sorted them by size, shape and colour and we have ordered them by value. Can you remember what coins are bronze?

We have also used our knowledge of coins to complete lots of problem solving challenges. Take a look at our “how many ways…” work.

Blogging with Deputy Mitchell

This week we have been working with the blogging guru Deputy Mitchell who has been sharing all of his wonderful expertise and skills.

Our children loved learning from Deputy Mitchell and were fascinated by the fact that people all over the world read our blog and replied to our posts.

The children were also very proud of themselves for blogging independently, take a look at the “all about me…” posts, I’m sure they will make you smile.

Blue Moose Dance Workshop

Today we were transported back in time to 1666 on Pudding Lane where the Great Fire of London started.

We imagined that we were candles, flames and sparks moving in the wind and spreading along the streets of London. We also imagined that we were a baker, wooden houses falling down, panicked people trying to escape the city and following the kings orders by rebuilding the city once again.

The children were fantastic in their expressive movements, take a look at their wonderful work.

Show and Tell

Every Friday afternoon our class looks forward to show and tell where they get to share their exciting news, broadcast their hidden talents or talk about an object or picture that is special to them. The children are enjoying working on their speaking and listening skills and are becoming increasingly confident when speaking aloud and in front of an audience.

This week we were particularly impressed with our superstar singer who would give any of the X factor contestants a run for their money! Simon Cowell look out for this further star in the making…

Anti-Bullying Week

This week we have been supporting anti-bullying week and we have been discussing the theme “all different, all equal”. We have been helping our children celebrate what makes them, and others unique and help them understand why it’s important that every child feels included in school and is able to be themselves without fear of bullying.

We have also been discussing the features of bullying and how this differs from teasing and from those instances where we make the wrong choices.

We have also been acting out some scenes of bullying, take a look at our fantastic acting skills…
